Local housing market shows continued improvement. According to the NW Multiple Listing Service there were 6,103 pending sales in November, continuing a 7 month double-digit year-over-year increase and the total number of accepted offers was over 22% higher than November of 2010. It is also the first time since December 2006 that the number of pending sales has surpassed the number of new listings… are we on the verge of an inventory shortage?? Time will tell. What I can say is the announcement of BOEING’s new contract, solidifying many jobs in the NW, helps increase the stabilization of our local economy and paired with the slow recovery in the housing market, shows we are making progress and steps towards a better 2012.
